A handy little timing app for your interval training or couch to 5k plan
This free interval timer app available on the App Store for iOS devices by Deltaworks is a handy customisable interval timer that can be used for a variety of applications. A great app, simple to use and does what you would expect, plus there are no annoying pop-up ads. It’s adjustable to suit your needs, whether you are at the gym working out, or just going for a run with intervals and rest periods, or run and walk periods.
You can set a warm-up, cool-down period as well as timed intervals, rest periods, the number of sets and different interval cycles if you want different timed intervals within a workout. You don’t have to set it up each time, save the routine with a name of your choice for future use. There’s also a calendar feature that shows you the days you used the app so you can look back and see what you have done and keep track of your workouts. Other customisable features/options are the ability to set sounds and colours for different stages of your workout. For example, customise the warm up or cool down period, your high-intensity interval and low-intensity interval and rest period.
I used this app when I started running following a couch to 5k plan. It worked a treat and made life much easier not having to look at a watch to know when to run or walk and for how long. Just listen to the sound/alarms to know when to start running and when to stop.
